Local input sought on overtaking lanes

Road users are invited by VicRoads to participate in the planning for two overtaking lanes on the Murray Valley Highway between Cobram and Rutherglen.

VicRoads are particularly interested in hearing from the communities of Cobram, Yarrawonga, Bundalong and Rutherglen.

VicRoads North Eastern Regional Director Bryan Sherritt said the Murray Valley Highway was a vital connection in our region and these overtaking lanes will improve travel time reliability as well as improving overtaking safety.

“Residents are invited to write, email or call VicRoads with their suggested locations on the highway where these overtaking lanes would be most beneficial.

Further engagement  with the community will follow with suggestions initially sent to PO Box 135, Benalla 3671 or ner.enquiries@roads.vic.gov.au or via phoning  03 5671 1815 by Wednesday June 1.

“We will consider the feedback we receive and then draw up some preliminary plans which we will then take back to the communities for further input,” he added.
